Right now, CSE branch is more preferred branch in India. B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering is all about Computer Sciences, programming languages, software development and testing, networking etc. It also focuses on using the above mentioned skills and knowledge for practical and Industry specific usage. After B.Tech in CSE branch one can go for many other course such as Graduates may go for Diploma courses such as application development, Cyber Security courses, IT Edge courses etc. Traditional M.E./M.Tech programs also exists, which Graduates may pursue. Such programs will help one specialize in disciplines such as CAD, Networking, Security aspects etc. M.B.A. is another choice available in front of Graduates. It will help Graduates obtain management skills and thus improve their qualifications. Job opportunities are available for Graduates in Government as well as Private sector. Graduates may take up the following job posts- Software Engineer Software Tester Project Manager Application Developer After completing M.Tech Program, one may also take up a teaching job. Also, after taking up PhD program, one may also build a career in the Research and Development sector. The good thing about B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering program is that it also allows one to remain self-employed. Average starting salary is generally between 3-5 Lakh Rupees an year. One may start one’s own programming and software development venture.

I would recommend the top five engineering streams in terms of placement and salary packages offered. 3. Civil Engineering A civil engineers job is not new. It is perhaps the oldest branch of engineering. Civil engineers have a great responsibility of creating cities which are modern and well planned. Income: An Average Engineer: Rs 11,000/- to Rs 18,000/- Per MonthA Good Engineer: Rs 30,000/- to Rs 45,000/- Per MonthTop Grade Engineer: Rs 60,000/- to Rs 85,000/- Per Month Present & Future: Present of a civil engineer is good. Few years back the demand for civil engineers was quite less but in future because of urbanization of the country more and more civil engineers would required. B-Tech Electronics Electronic engineering is also a good career option. By completing your graduation in electronics and communication, one can make a career in the telecommunication industry, consumer electronics, IT industry, healthcare equipment manufacturing industry, mobile communication, etc. An electronics engineer has a lot of scope in Government, as well as private organizations like All India Radio, Indian Telephone Industry, Civil Aviation, Post and Telegraph department, etc. The job of an Electronics and communication engineer is very demanding. Here you will have to design logic circuits for the changing world. You have to come up with new ideas on daily basis. Income: An Average Engineer: Rs 15,000/- to Rs 25,000/- Per MonthA Good Engineer: Rs 35,000/- to Rs 45,000/- Per MonthTop Grade Engineer: Rs 50,000/- to Rs 100,000/ to Rs 250,000/- Per Month Present & Future: Present as well as future of an electronic & communication engineer is very bright. It is always an evergreen branch. So an electronic engineer has not to bother about its future.

I would recommend electronics and communication engineering. You will discover all about digital electronics and logic design, electronic circuits, signals and systems, power electronics, applied electromagnetic theory, integrated circuits, VLSI etc. Go for this engineering specialization if you have a strong base (and interest) in calculus and physics (semiconductors, etc.). The telecommunications enterprise and mobile development industry have been advancing by leaps and bounds in the last few years and would offer wonderful opportunities to graduates. If you have a B.Tech or a similar degree from a good institution, you can expect to earn anything between Rs 4 to Rs 6 LPA. Or if you get into IITs, the package becomes about 12-15 lac per annum As you work your way up in the company and learn implementation, architectural and design level abilities, you could make about Rs 10 LPA. Some of the main recruiters of Electronic Engineers will be Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Intel, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Toshiba, Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, LG Electronics, Nokia, CISCO, etc.

The most preferred streams: B-Tech Mechanical engineering Mechanical engineering is one of the most preferred and core streams of engineering education. It is the one and only course that gives you a plethora of options in terms of making a career in the field of your own choice. It is one exclusive branch that opens the doors for a student to make their career in the field of their own choice. Mechanical engineers are professionals needed in almost all sectors. Also, these courses are in very high demand in the job market. When you compare mechanical engineering to other engineering streams, it has a large scope in terms of choice, growth and earnings. A mechanical engineer can work in machine based industries, computer hardware and software industries, petroleum industries, electronics industries, aircraft industries, banking industry, etc., since there is a demand of mechanical engineers in every sector. It is a field that will never experience a recession. B. Tech Computer Engineering Computer engineering is the study of the theoretical foundations of information technology, its computation, implementation and application in computer systems. Computer science gives a lot of emphasize on fields like graphic designing, programming language theory and various other computation technology. In the past couple of years, IT sector has been growing rapidly and today it is one of the largest booming sectors in India. The pay scale and jobs available in this sector is very high. One can easily get an entry into top IT firms and establish themselves in this field. You can look forward to getting an entry in companies like Bharat Electronics Ltd., Nuclear Power Corporation of India, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc. B-Tech Civil Engineering Civil engineering is one of the oldest and the most popular engineering streams available. It involves design, construction, and maintenance of buildings, roads, dams, bridges, construction of townships and so on. Even though it is limited to the real estate sector and the infrastructure sector, yet it would be an interesting career if you have the interest and passion for it. Apart from mechanical engineering, civil engineering is the second most evergreen stream. There are ample opportunities for you, especially abroad. With an immense growth in the housing and infrastructure development, nuclear power projects, hydro-power power projects, etc., there is an ever increasing demand for civil engineer graduates in India and abroad.

Graduate course preference depends on the individual. Everyone should choose their specialization keeping in mind the future perspectives and the inclination towards the subject. For example, if you have in mind to appear for engineering services, none other than four core branches are making you eligible for appearing. A mechanically inclined mind opting for CSE would be completely wrong. Still viewing the job perspectives and opportunities CSE is preferred by a lot of guys nowadays. The reason is rising technological developments and increasing job opportunities. As we can see the top valued brand companies are Apple, Alphabet and Microsoft, all CS based companies. Computer science deals with the software development and techniques that are both hardware and software based emphasizing with operating systems. IT sector has been growing higher and blooming in India and hence the job opportunities. One can easily get jobs in good paying companies by specializing in their respective fields and a little struggle. The companies also promise a good pay. CSE focusses basically on the study of computers and it deals with the study of engineering behind computers. It deals with programming, algorithms, data handling, data storage, software engineering, operating systems and more scientific and practical approaches. CS engineers have a deeper knowledge of computational systems. It includes all concepts related to programming tools that are helpful in application basis.CSE curriculum focuses on the real time development and computational development in the forms of algorithms, OS etc. and it can be a combines study of hardware with software embedded with Operating systems. The reasons for more and more people opting for CSE and its growing sector is because: 1: Bigger Job opportunities 2: Promising pay 3: Need in every sector 4: Enjoyment in writing codes 5: Challenging Intellectually
