Both the exams are pretty much same in terms of difficulty level. So, it depends on which exam's pattern you are more comfortable with. So, none of them is more difficult than other in absolute terms.

Cracking is just a relative term. There is nothing called tougher to crack or easy to crack. This view depends upon the preparation of the exam you are giving. There are a number of exams conducted in India for the MBA type courses. Exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT, IBSAT, NMAT, SNAP, etc. have some minor tweaking and variations apart from the main sections. Each of these exams has a quantitative aptitude, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning and data interpretation, apart from GK or essay writing section in some of the exams. So, you have to prepare accordingly for these exams either by taking coaching classes or correspondence course or by self-preparation or by following recommended books. After you have prepared for the most difficult level questions, you may try to get some question banks for the specific exam you are targeting either offline mode I.e. books on exams or online mode i.e. free question banks websites or paid question banks for practice.

XAT is for admission to XLRI (Xavier's Labour Reform Institute and IBSAT is for Indian School of Business. Both are among the top ones but XLRI is much better and top-most as compared to IBS. Also, the level of XAT is more difficult as compared to IBSAT. You need to be more clear from your basic to clear your XAT exam like it has the section of decision making, aptitude, English and general awareness. One has to prepare more thorough to crack it with a good score Whereas IBSAT is relatively easier than XAT, if you want to prepare for IBSAT you can prepare within a less time as compared to CAT which requires more time and practice for the preparation and gets a good score in it. Also, the reputation of XAT is better among the candidate as it is referred to XLRI and IBSAT is also good but not as that of XAT. All the best.
