Let me break it down for you: Ranking: SRM ranks 11 on the list of the best private sector colleges in India while Manipal is off the charts. Infrastructure & facilities: SRM boasts a 250 acre campus in Chennai which is the biggest of its kind with a 100 mbps network connection spread throughout out the campus. Aeronautical hanger: SRM holds an aeronautical hanger which consists of: A computational fluid dynamics laboratory with standard software has been established A subsonic research wind tunnel with hot wire anemometer, pressure scanner and precision manometers is available A full-fledged aerospace structural mechanics laboratory is under development The associated laboratories such as CAD Lab, Dynamics Lab, Metrology Lab, and Metallurgy Lab in the sister departments of the school are made available to students Supersonic Wind tunnel (Mach 2.5 to 3.5) Blower Tunnel Jet Tunnel Water flow channel for flow visualization Air bus simulator Fee: At SRM, you have to pay a lot less than what you have to pay at Manipal, even though SRM being the better of the two. Hope you make the right choice cheers!

It depends on you whether you have an interest or like the course of aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering. Aeronautical engineering and aerospace engineering are sister branches. Aeronautical engineering deals with making and maintaining the aircrafts. Aerospace engineering deals with making and maintaining the satellites and spacecraft. Manipal Institute of Technology and SRM-Chennai both of them are the best private engineering colleges of India. According to me, aeronautical engineering is a much better choice then aerospace engineering because of the scope of aeronautical engineering is more than aerospace engineering as there are only some of the companies related to aerospace engineering but there are many companies that are related to aeronautical engineering. So, I should suggest you to take a nautical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology then aerospace engineering from SRM-Chennai. Placement of aeronautical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology and aerospace engineering from SRM-Chennai are both average. Average package offered by the companies is about 4 lakh per annum in both of the universities. Due to lack of companies in both of these fields, there are many non-core companies that take part in the placement and takes most of the students from these courses. Hope it helps

MIT and SRM, both are one of the best and top ranked colleges/institutes in India and in terms of aeronautical engineering the best out of these two is the SRM Chennai because its placements is much better than the MIT Manipal. SRM Chennai is good ranked private institute its ranking is in top 20 private institutes of India. So, I would suggest to go for SRM, Chennai. Cheers!
