Let me break it down for you: Ranking: SRM ranks 11 on the list of the best private sector colleges in india while Manipal is off the charts. Infrastructure & facilities: Srm boasts a 250 acre campus in chennai which is the biggest of its kind with a 100 mbps network connection spread throught out the campus. Aeronautical hanger: Srm holda an aeronautical hanger which consists of : A computational fluid dynamics laboratory with standard software has been established A subsonic research wind tunnel with hot wire anemometer, pressure scanner and precision manometers is available A full-fledged aerospace structural mechanics laboratory is under development The associated laboratories such as CAD Lab, Dynamics Lab, Metrology Lab, and Metallurgy Lab in the sister departments of the school are made available to students Supersonic Windtunnel (Mach 2.5 to 3.5) Blower Tunnel Jet Tunnel Water flow channel for flow visualization Air bus simulator Fees : At srm you have to pay a lot less than what you have to pay at manipal, even though SRM being tge better of the two. SRM has collaborations with over 70 and over international institutions and rich programs like semester aboroad program, dual degree program and twinning programs to get the most of the 4 year course time. Hope you make the right choice cheers

Manipal Institute of Technology and SRM University both of them are the best private engineering colleges of India. According to me, computer science engineering from SRM University is much better choice than aeronautical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology because of the showing reasons 1. Fee structure of B.Tech in aeronautical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology is about 12.8 lakh. Fee structure of B.Tech in computer science engineering from SRM University is about 8 lakh. 2. The scope of computer science engineering is more than the scope of aeronautical engineering in India. 3. Faculty of Manipal Institute of Technology are much experienced then Faculty of SRM University Chennai. 4. Facilities provided by SRM University-Chennai to the year computer science engineering students is much better than the facilities provided by Manipal Institute of Technology to aeronautical engineering students. 5.placements IN SRM: AVERAGE package offered by the companies is about 3.5 Lakh per annum. Highest package offered is about 16 lakh per annum. IN MIT: Average package offered by the companies is about 3 lakh per annum. Hope it helps!

B.Tech in CSE and B.Tech in aeronautical both are different branches of engineering. MIT Manipal and SRM University are both good colleges in India for engineering after IITs and NITs. In aeronautical engineering one has to study about aerodynamic body and about planes, this branch is still growing, so many students do not want to go for aeronautical engineering and CS is the most demanding branch in India.
