If aerospace is what excites you I would recommend you take up neither. IIST is the right place for you as it paves a way for you to go to ISRO. Regardless, if you still wish to go to one of the IITs, IIT Madaras is a lot better place for you to take up aerospace engineering, only because of the advanced laboratories and the spectacular reputation of the faculty members at IIT Chennai. Again, take up aerospace engineering only if you are really interested in the field, as there are not many core companies to recruit undergraduates in aerospace, and if that happens, you'll probably end up in any IT company like TCS, which will be a complete waste of your degree. Although it is the best place for you start at if you intend to study further for MS/PhD. It gives opportunity for the top 10% percent students of the batch to get admission in the ivy league of colleges in USA, which is the entry ticket to the major core franchise present all around the world. I hope you make the right choice. Cheers!
