COEP and VJTI are both good colleges and among the top most in Maharashtra. But among the two COEP is the winner. COEP has been ranked one in Maharashtra after the IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings COEP is ranked 24th while VJTI is not even in the top hundred in the list. Last time COEP had 83.80 percent placement for mechanical while VJTI had 50.9 percent for civil and quality of companies coming to COEP is better than at VJTI. Even average salary is better at COEP than VJTI. Other than that COEP's racing team which generally consists of mechanical engineers has a legacy of winning BAJA SAE which is an All India Racing Competition. What I have learnt from staying one year in Tamil Nadu is that COEP is well known all over India but the same is not the case with VJTI. Go for COEP mechanical rather than VJTI civil.
