Which of these is better: B.Tech in CSE from NIT Trichy or BE (Hons.) in CSE from BITS-Pilani?

CSE from BITS Pilani is better as compared to NIT Trichy. Placements are as high as 25 lakhs of the package for some of the reputed companies for CSE branch. Campus is full of greenery as if you will feel at natures house Computer labs with latest software and languages are available. Those interested in research specially in CSE, there is a lot of opportunities available. And CSE dept is the most series one in BITS Pilani.

CSE from BITS, Pilani is better as compared to NIT, Trichy. Placements: Placements are 100% for the computer science branch. The highest package in India was 35 LPA and the lowest package for CS in India was 12 LPA. The average salary comes out to be around 22 LPA. This is very close to previous year's average too. Top shot companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Directi, Adobe, Samsung, HP, Visa, etc. to the newest startups like Nutanix, Crowdfire, etc. were among the recruiters. The roles offered mainly include software development and very rarely testing roles are given. BITS, Pilani is an amazing place to complete your graduation. Your campus life will fill you up with memories that will last a lifetime. Pros: 1. Amazing crowd. 2. Lively campus life. 3. Great placements. 4. Practice school semester long internship program. 5. Infrastructure has improved a lot. By 2016-17, most hostels will be best in the country. Cons: 1. Syllabus seems a little outdated. 2. Less research. 3. Not all faculty is supportive, though this maybe the case everywhere. 4. Weather is very tough to adjust too. Power cuts in summers add to your woes. 5. Administrative offices are pretty much like government offices. Work is slow and painful to get done though some officials are helpful. 6. Pretty far away from civilization. Nearest city is Delhi/Jaipur, both 200Km away. However, this is also a good thing, as you spend more time in the college, which somehow I believe helps in the long run.

BITS Pilani and NIT Trichy are pretty much comparable in most of the terms. Both the colleges are preferable after IITs. But according to the ranking of most sites, NIT Trichy ranks higher than BITS Pilani. MHRD ranks NIT Trichy at 11th rank whereas BITS Pilani stands at 16th position. BITS and NIT Trichy both have almost 100% placement for CSE students. It was 97.6 percent in 2016 and 100percent in 2017 for NIT Trichy. BITS also has an almost 100% for CSE students. Both the colleges get visited by IT giants like Amazon, Google, Microsoft every year. From my personal experience, NIT Trichy is really good for CSE students. Here we have Octagon which is a 1 storeyed computer lab with labs for different uses like general use, VLSI and graphics, Autocad, etc. There are clubs like Delta and Spyder which provide a great opportunity to students to learn in fields of Web development, App development, Tronics etc. From what I have heard from my friends from NIT Trichy and BITS Pilani, BITS seems to have a small edge in teaching. As it is a private college it has a better selection process for faculties. In terms of infrastructure BITS, Pilani is more posh than NIT Trichy. Also, consider other factors like location and connectivity before you make a choice. According to me, both are pretty good choices.
