Which of these is better: B.Tech in CSE from VIT University or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from MIT Manipal?

Computer Science and Engineering from UPES is one of the best in the country, and far better than mechanical engineering from MIT. I know this because I am an alumnus of UPES and have been placed in one of the top MNCs with a really good package. The best part is their faculty, industrial visits and specialised programs with support from best tech giants in the world.

I don’t know much about Computer Science and Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology but I can tell you what Mechanical Engineering is from Manipal Institute of Technology. First of all, craze of Mechanical Engineering is increasing day by day. Secondly, it is very difficult to get a seat in good colleges for Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical branch of Manipal Institute of Technology is rated very high in India. Mechanical branch of Manipal offers SRF - Student Research Forum for students to go deep into concept and discover the hidden concepts in their areas of Interest. This makes them become good engineers. Apart from this, there are many student run projects which rated very high and are not available in many colleges in India. Projects like Formula Manipal - Racing car built by MIT students which won several prizes, Team Manipal Racing - an off road racing car, Solar Mobil - First 4 seater solar car in India to be launched this month only, and several others. According to Placement point of view, companies like Mercedes, Tata, etc. recruit students from MIT Manipal. Thanks.

Both the institutes are among the top when it comes to the teaching prospective and infrastructure. Also one of the most important factor is their establishment which is around 40 years, which make them come in the category of recognized and deemed universities, but there are many prospective by which an institution should be judged and to be chosen upon. When it comes to the tower structure of institutions Manipal leads with high marks. It has one of the best infra and well managed campus. Fee, here Manipal charges the highest fee among all the private college colleges in India and it follows a European culture. You have to spend a lot to match the standards of the students and peer. From that VIT is nice as it has very nominal fee. Academic and CSE environment, here Manipal leads as it has the best amongst the most skilled labs and placement scenario and industrial tie-ups. The VIT CSE average is 9 LPA whereas Manipal CSE average is 13 LPA. In all if you can pay a huge amount for fee then blindly go for Manipal else VIT is also good.

It depends on your interest whether you like mechanical engineering or computer science engineering. Mechanical engineering deals with the hardware or the machines whereas computer science deals with software all the programmes of the machines. Vellore Institute of Technology and Manipal Institute of Technology both of them are best private engineering colleges of India. According to me, computer science engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology is much better than mechanical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology because of the following reasons 1. Fee structure of mechanical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology is about 12.8 Lakh . Fee structure of Vellore Institute of Technology in Computer Science Engineering is about 7.8 Lakh . 2. Faculty of Vellore Institute of Technology is much more knowledgeable and experience than the faculty of Manipal Institute of Technology. 3. Facilities and environment provided to the students of computer science engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology is much better than the mechanical engineering students from Manipal Institute of Technology. 4.Placements In VIT, the average package offered by the companies is about 6.5 Lakh per annum and the highest package offered is about 24 Lakh per annum. IN MIT, the average package offered by the companies is about 5 Lakh per annum and the highest package is about 18 Lakh per annum. Hope it helps.
