VIT is best for the CSE branch as this college students are selected by the NASA and some projects are even used in the American Government.

Greetings from SHIKSHA. Computer Science Engineering is amongst the Best Engineering Branches. There is very good scope of doing CSE from both these Institutes in the terms of training, education and Placements. VIT University and SRM University are among the best engineering institutes in India. Placement ratio of both of these institutes is really very good. The campuses of both the institutes are also the best. So, now, talking about the point that which is better among these two, VIT University is the one. It is better than SRM University because the intake of VIT University is less than SRM University. So, there are less but quality engineers by Thapar University and packages are slightly higher than SRM University. VIT University is having only two campuses and SRM University is having around 5 to 7 campuses. So, intake is more but the quality engineers are not much produced here. So, thus, VIT University is better than SRM University in every terms of training, education, placements, research and further studies.

Vellore Institute of Technology is way better than SRM. 1. You need to take an entrance exam, good percentage won't be enough like SRM as it reflects the quality of competition. 2. If you are good in studies or have studied enough to score better, you will get the Vellore campus a better place than Chennai. 3. If you are getting in through merit, the fee structure would not be much high in VIT as compared to SRM. VIT general CSE fee: Rs. 1,72,000. SRM general CSE fee at Chennai: Rs. 2,50,000 if your rank is less than 10k in SRMJEEE. 4. In CSE and IT department, you will have 97% chance to end up in a good company with a dream offer (approx. 5-20 LPA). On the other side, you could end up with a mass recruiter but in all the cases you will get a job. If you are active enough, you can be a part of various student groups according to your interest and so can enhance your skills as well. 6. If you are good in research, you are heading to the right place. As VIT is now being counted as one of the top research universities in India. VIT is the best option.
