A degree from Birla Institute of Technological Sciences (BITS) Pilani is any day better than that of Vellore Institute of Technology, Bangalore. Vellore Institute of Technology is only known for its placement record, which consists of IT companies, and one or two core companies, which offer you a salary of 2.5-4 lakhs per annum on an average. This works well for computer science and information science, unlike other branches. The department of mechanical engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology is at an all time low, with the senior faculty members announcing their retirement, and the present faculty members not being able to step up effectively. Also, the course curriculum at BITS Pilani is way better and more industry oriented, unlike the same at Vellore Institute of Technology.
