Both the colleges are equally good, but I will vote for Thapar University, Patiala because of the standard which the University has maintained since the establishment. I will try to distinguish between both the colleges with the help of certain parameters: ADMISSION PROCESS:Thaper University admits it's students on the basis of JEE main marks.Usually cutoff goes higher for Computer engineering (around 180).While SRM University conducts it's own examination called SRMJEE. CAMPUS: SRM University has a very good and beautiful campus.Student intake is higher in SRM University. PLACEMENT: Thaper University has average package of around 8 lakhs per annum while SRM University has average package of around 5 lakhs per annum. Thaper don't have any management quota seat where as SRM had few seats reserved for the management quota. Fee is almost similar in both the colleges.And location wise Chennai has the upper hand over Patiala.

According to my views and experience, SRM University is the best university for the computer Science courses. In this university, you can get good placements. And, good companies come here for the placement cell. You can get good companies here for the placement. This college has good infrastructure and peaceful environment too.

Thapar Institute has the best infrastructure. There is a proper environment for the development of the student. There are also many sports facilities on the campus itself like the atheletic track; sports complex. The hostel life is also good.

Although both the universities are working nicely and effortlessly and in constant competition with each other, Thapar and lovely Professional University rules in north whereas SRM and VIT are in southern part of India. Placements: SRM has an edge providing more placement opportunities to students with and highest package of 35 LPA and average upto 12 LPA whereas in Thapar it is 9 LPA and highest goes up to 27 LPA. Thapar University takes admission on the basis of JEE Mains and has tie-ups with companies such as Flipkart, Amazon, Igate, Aon, Microsoft, etc. Whereas SRM takes admission on the basis of SRMJEE held every year and has many more corporates along with those mentioned with Thapar University. Also, SRM University has a plus point being located in the prime location where almost all multinational and global corporates have their India headquarters and hence has a plus point of attracting the corporates at priority. Although, the curriculum along with the fee is nominal with facilities provided, so it can be a better second option after SRM.

Greetings from SHIKSHA. Computer Science Engineering is amongst the Best Engineering Branches. There is very good scope of doing CSE from both these Institutes in the terms of training, education and Placements. Thapar University and SRM University are among the best Engineering Institutes in India. Placement ratio of both of these institutes is really very good. The campuses of both the institutes are also the best. So, now, talking about the point that which is better among these two Institutes then the answer will be Thapar University. It is better than SRM University because the intake of Thapar University is less than SRM University. So, less but quality engineers are made by Thapar University and packages are slightly higher than SRM University. Thapar University comprises of only one campus and SRM University has 5 to 7 campuses. So, since the intake is more, the quality engineers are not much produced here. Thus, Thapar University is better than SRM University in every terms of training, education, placements, research and further studies.

The two instituions you have mentioned are class apart, with Thapar university bring semi private (partially being funded by government) while srm university being a private college in the whole sense. There is less chance of acceptance at thapar university as you need to qualify JEE Mains securing a good rank while chance of being accepted at srm is certainly higher because srm conducts its own examination SRMJEE which is relatively easy. Placements: Thapar university is a clear winner here, owing up to their reputation of 7-8 lakhs average placement while it is really low for srm, being 4-5 lakhs only. Also, more core companies visit thapar in comparison to srm. College reputation: Apart from srm being a big brand, featuring a big campus and all, thapar university's degree would be more valuable anytime. There are around 1500 sudents in the 2017 batch of CSE in srm, which gives no room for personal student development and attention. This is not the case in THAPAR as only a handful seats are present. Do make the right choice. Cheers!
