BIT-Mesra is better overall. We can compare them on the following parameters: Brand recognition: BIT is an older college with a rich legacy and has carved a niche for itself in the industry. Fee structure- BIT-Mesra is cheaper than VIT even though both are private institutions Placement: Both the colleges have a dedicated placement cell and are able to invite several top companies every year. The average CTC at BIT for 2016-17 batch was around 6.5 LPA and the highest was 26 LPA. Most of the average students send up with a CTC around 6 LPA. Whereas, in VIT if you are an average student or maybe a little below average you will end up with one of the mass recruiter companies (3-4 LPA). But if you are an above average student, you will definitely get a dream offer and that too somewhere around 6-7 LPA. The list of recruiters at BIT-Mesra is also impressive with recruiters like TATA, Amadeus, CGI, Cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini and EXL recruiting in large number of students from CS, EC and IT branches. In other branches, the number of recruiters are lesser. Infrastructure: VIT has a more vibrant and smart campus with modern amenities. BIT needs a revamp on that front Student life: VIT is more vibrant on that front, but BIT has some excellent clubs for technical enthusiasts and its student life is more inclined towards academics Hopefully, that will helps you to make a call.

Birla Institute of Technology is the top private college in India and no other private college is even close to giving competition to this college. The college manages to overthrow this competitive VIT University in almost every subject you can probably think of BE at the college reputation, placements, faculty, training and placement cell. I'll just point out a few advantages but you would get them if you get admission at BITS-Mesra over VIT University. The acceptance rate at Birla Institute of Technology-Mesra is really low (that for computer science branch being even lower) because of which only beautiful minds get to study at the college, which is the reason why the college has managed to get its name flying high in such less time. The college reputation and the value of the degree is almost equivalent with Indian Institute of Technology if not less. The college is a little lenient on attendance while at VIT University you have to maintain at least 75% of attendance, failure to maintain which you can get detailed. Also, the placements are better than any other private colleges in India. In fact, the college provides the best of the placements than any other college except IIT can provide you in India. I hope this helps.

Both are important colleges for B.Tech. Here are a few points on the basis of which one can decide a college according to their interest. 1.College Type:- VIT is private college and BIT Mesra is a government-funded Institute (GFTIs). 2.NIRF Ranking:- VIT ranked 13 among all engineering colleges and BIT Mesra is ranked 17 among all engineering college. 3.Admission Exam:- VIT Takes admission through VITEEE and BIT Mesra takes admission through JEE Mains who has rank less than 1lakh mains exam 4. Fee Structure:- Both college has fee structure of about 2Lakh per year excluded hostel change but hostel charge is less in BIT as compared to VIT 5. Placement:- Placement in VIT is good as more companies come from around the world and BIT Mesra has an average placement of 10 lakh per annum and many core companies come for placement around the country. 6. Exposure:- VIT has more exposure and cultural activities as compared to BIT Mesra. 7.Campus:- VIT has a big campus and many tech lab and BIT has decent campus beautifully designed and an extension campus in Patna.

Both the colleges are good for computer science engineering. VIT University, Vellore, Chennai is good but most of the students placed here are hired by mass recruiters. Recently, VIT University has ranked 13th among all private and government engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Birla Institute of Technology always shines in top 20. Birla Institute of Technology- Mesra is an old and reputed private engineering college of North India. I will try to differentiate between both the colleges: 1.Infrastructure of both the colleges is equally good.VIT has a modern infrastructure but BIT Mesra has not grown much in terms of infrastructure. 2.BIT-Mesra has a good reputation among the companies. Alumni network is very strong as compared to VIT University. 3.Placement is better than VIT University. The diversity of companies are more in BIT Mesra. The average salary offered is also higher in BIT-Mesra. Overall computer science engineering in BIT Mesra is far better than VIT Univesity, Vellore. Hope it helped. Thanks!
