You can take up a job and try AMIE in your spare (part) time. If you want to do full time, try for B Tech.

AMIE: It is non-formal engineering course. It is meant for mostly working Diploma holders and plus 2 holders, who wants to pursue higher studies in engineering. It is recognised and equivalent to BE. You will be eligible for UPSC, GATE PG and internal promotions in PSUs, etc. after this course. In North India, it is considered a very good qualification. The same opportunities for B.Tech hold good for AMIE, except in teaching. If you are a working person, take AMIE. If you are economically okay and want to study a regular course, study B.Tech.

If you want to do in your free time, then go for AIME, as a side course. Otherwise, for full time exposure go for B.Tech.
