According to me, CSE has more scope than chemical. So you actually go for CSE in NITK instead of chemical. It also depends on your interests. Please don't choose a branch depending on the college. It’s your branch in which you will build your career ahead, so choose wisely.

If you are not particular on doing engineering in CSE, B.Tech at IIT, Chennai is a better option. Whatever people may say, NITs cannot match with name of legacy IITs.
