Electrical engineering is a little better than mechanical engineering, as it has better scope and nowadays some of the mechanical engineers are ending up jobless, but there is a better scope for electrical engineers, so better go with electrical engineering. But since both are core branches, you can opt for mechanical also.

It is again matter of your interest I strongly prefer you mechanical engineering just because I am doing it and find this as most beautiful branch. Here, we talk about machines, components, materials, basic electrical engineering, coding, designing, heat energy, thermodynamics, etc. So you have to decide what you like the most electrical subjects and job aspects or mechanical subjects and job aspects of mechanical engineering. Best of luck.

Both the branches are very good and evergreen. But try to choose the field in which you love to work and you have very much interest in it with curiosity. Trust me it will be best for you than any other fields. Best of luck!
