Prefer IIT Bombay anytime over State School of Design, when it comes to B.Des Industrial design. If you have a credible body of specimen work done by you, as is expected of the students of top-notch design schools, you might get placed right on the Campus itself.or you might get work orders as a freelancer. The second option, though paying less at the initial stage, keeps the prospects open for you to get enhanced earnings as the reputation grows. So, before your academic terms end, build an impressive spec file, and have soft copies ready. If there is any work worth claiming IPR on, do take care to get these registered, before circulation. Placements are good as there is a high demand for designers in the market. During my time, a lot of service companies like TCS, Infosys etc. came to campus for placement. However, the trend has changed to Product companies now. The minimum package you can expect is around 8L per annum and the maximum goes up to 24L for a fresher.
