Pilot training involves a lot of expenditure and most candidates who come from a middle class family, fund their course by means of education loan. Hence, it becomes utterly important to get a job after you are done with the training. Government Aviation Training Institute, Bhubaneshwar and National College of Aviation, Chennai are geographically located far from each other. Although, both have had a history of training candidates for Commercial Pilot License Training Course, but the placements are not that good when compared to some premier institutes which are functional in India at present. In my view, at present National College of Aviation, Chennai is a notch better than Government Aviation Training Institute when compared in terms of Fleet and Instructors availability. The infrastructures are although similar and Navigational Aids availability is also good at both the places. You may choose any of them depending on the time of year you choose to start your course, so that wind conditions and visibility issues do not become a constraint in your training. Further, to continue my point, my personal advice is to look for institutes like IGRUA or CAE Gondia. So that placement assistance is assured. Many airlines are also running cadet pilot programmes, which are also a good choice at this point of time.
