Why are there so many physical attributes required for a cabin crew such as height, weight, etc.? Is looks an important criterion as well?

Physical and Medical fitness are the main criteria for this job. Height and weight should be within the BMI limit. For male, BMI range is 25 and for female, it is 23. As per DGCA requirement, one has to undergo medical test, initially and one has to be medically fit to perform the duties of a cabin crew. Nowadays, you need to undergo fitness test every 4 years. You must have a pleasing personality of course. But, it is not the only criteria for selection or rejection.

Cabin crew is required to be healthy to perform their in-flight functions. Therefore, healthy weight is determined by standard accepted body mass index of 19 to 4.9. Cabin crew is a customer service functions therefore airlines in addition look for pleasing personality with an unblemished complexion and good body language.
