The current scenario in India is that 60% students appearing in CAT are from the engineering background. That's because MBA gives a perspective and vision that you need apart from your technical background to work in an organization. Also, to work at a higher level only your technical skills won't help you to achieve that you need all the managerial skills to deal with all the situations you face during your work life and get the best work done by all employee under you, apart from this MBA teaches you how to handle pressure. Moreover, it gives you an exposure that you did not get in your graduation and which is must to work in an organization. So all this adds up to reasons why engineers prefer MBA.
