Question: If p2qp2q and q2pq2p are the roots of the equation 2x2+7x4=02x2+7x−4=0, find the equation whose roots are pp and qq(p+qp+q is real).

My attempt: The required equation is x2(p+q)x+pqx2−(p+q)x+pq

(p2q)(q2p)=42(p2q)(q2p)=−42

pq=2pq=−2
