LUNAR day of Jyeshtha.Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the Tenth bright lunar day in the month of Jyestha.It is a 10-day FESTIVAL celebrated annually.Ganga Dussehra is a major festival of Hindus.Goddess Ganga was born on earth on this day.The 10th day of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha is called Dashami Dussehra.Ganga Dussehra is ALSO known as Gangavatarn.It is celebrated in the STATES of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.Haridwar, Rishikesh, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Garhmukteshwar, and PATNA are the main celebrating areas.People perform Aartis on the banks of River Ganga.Yamuna River is also worshipped on the same day.Kite flying events are organized here.
