PROFESSIONAL development includes a wide variety of program to support and promote professional LEARNING of teachers who are already employed and are working in CLASSROOM.the main goal of this professional development is to develop knowledge, skill, and commitments of teacher so that they could effectively design lesson plans, assess learning outcomes of the students and undertake other responsibilities of school community.Programs to enhance teacher qualityIn India, a number of training programs are organized by NCERT, SCERT, and other bodies for in-service teachers.Induction program by a resource person is organized before the start of new session. It is very much helpful for the teachers particularly new teachers to understand curriculum, guidelines, ATMOSPHERE, etc and accordingly, they are able to plan the teaching-learning outcome for the whole year.the main goal of this professional development is to develop the knowledge and skill of the working teachers.Microsimulation is a kind of role play in which one teacher enact as a teacher and the rest of the colleagues act as students. It is a kind of real classroom like situation but not the real students. Here the teacher gets valuable feedback from the colleague which help them to IMPROVE their efficiency.Conclusion: Pedagogy and foundation courses help an individual to prepare himself/herself as a teacher but these are not training program to enhance the quality of in-service teachers. so option (2) is correct.
