INFORMATION and understanding from one person to another. It is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person, or group to another. The communication process is made up of four key components. Those components include ENCODING, the medium of transmission, decoding, and feedback, along with the sender and the receiverModels of Communication:Linear Model (The One-way Process of Communication) :This model gives importance to the communicator and his/her message, the element of feedback is not included. This model had helped to improve the understanding of communication among social scientists engaged in communication theories.This model was useful in political communication, propaganda, and political symbolism.The model ALSO assumes the communicator wishes to influence the receiver and, therefore, sees communication as a persuasive process.Interactive Model :It is the model where communication is two way.The interactive or convergence model is similar to the transactional model as they are both two-way communication models and participants alternate positions as sender and receiver.The interactive model focuses more on interaction and less on message. It takes physical (environmental factors) and psychological (mental & emotional factors) context into account.The scope of feedback is present in this type of communication model. Transactional Model :A model of communication where all persons are engaged in sending (encoding) and receiving (decoding) messages simultaneously, the sender and receiver each take turns to send or RECEIVE messages.In this model communication is a dynamic process in which there is an interactive relationship between the sender and the receiver and each person is affecting each other.This model believes that there is a continuous process of feedback in communication. The model is mostly used for interpersonal communication, group discussions, reporting, and is also called a circular model of communication.Conclusion: Since the transactional model of communication is the most dynamic model. Therefore, in the Transactional model based on collaborative projects there is an optimum scope for encoding and decoding messages.Note: International model and distance learning model will lack proper feedback, while discussion-cum-lecture method will act as an interactional model.
