(now in Uttarakhand).The aim of this movement was forest conservation and increase social awareness and the need to save TREES, increase ecological awareness, and demonstrate the viability of people power.Sunderlal Bahuguna and Gaura Devi are the key people of this movement. Sunderlal Bahuguna gave the slogan "Ecology is the permanent economy".
