A memorandum of understanding was signed between Maharashtra's Savitribai Phule Pune Universit(STPU) and Qatar's Milestone International Education enabling the University to set up its campus in Doha, with an aim to provide opportunities in higher education to nearly eight million Indian diaspora based in Qatar.

The campus will be fully functional from next semester onwards.

Interestingly, in spite of such a large number of Indians in the State of Qatar, no Indian university has its campus in the country. Realizing this gap, the memorandum has been signed to promote cooperation between the two institutions with the support of government of State of Qatar.
