Nagaland today celebrated 2nd Honey Bee Day under the theme 'Save Bees, Save Life' at Kohima.

Chief Secretary Temjen Toy said, every household in Nagaland is a potential beekeeper. He urged the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) to take extra effort in promoting beekeeping in the state to produce more.

He envisaged that Nagaland can be a honey destination if more people come forward to take beekeeping as a mission rather than supplementing the income of the farmers.

Mr. Toy also encouraged the bee farmers to work towards its mission adding that collective effort will make it possible.

NBHM Chairman Ntsemo Ngullie said, bees play a vital role in the eco-system. He said, it is necessary to ensure their survival by finding sustainable solutions to factors that threaten their existence.
