What is the full form of NCERT ?

NCERT is a popular abbreviation in an education system that stands for the National Council of Educational Research and Training. NCERT is known to be an autonomous organization established by the Government of India under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. NCERT was founded as a scientific, literary, and charitable society in 1961.NCERT is operated by the government of India and it has headquartered in Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi, India. Since September 2015 Dr. Hrushikesh Senapaty is serving as the director of the council of NCERT.

Before 1961 the government of India was running 7 educational government institutions.
Later the government of India decided to combine these 7 educational institutes. Thus on 1st September 1961, the National Council of educational research and training (NCERT) was established.
