Led Definition: LED Full Form: Light Emitting Diode<p>Led Description:
LED meaning or Full form is Light Emitting Diode.
LED means light-emitting diode is a semiconductor light source that Emits lights when applying a predefined voltage.
Basically, this is a PN-Junction Diode, which emits light when a voltage above the threshold voltage is applied.
LED is used in much electronic equipment today due to its very good quality.
LED is the latest invention, used by most people today. This is the reason why the popularity and use of LEDs are increasing day by day.
The LED is made by merging P and N-type semiconductor materials.
As we know, silicon and germanium are used in a normal semiconductor diode, but this semiconductor material is not used in light-emitting diodes. Gallium arsenide (GaAs) or gallium arsenide phosphate(GaAsP) is used in its place.
This material is used in LED due to its special characteristics. This material has this property, it emits light, not heat when applying voltage.
LED is manufactured as a forward bias device.
LED works on the principle of Electroluminescence.
The Property of semiconductor material by which it converts electrical energy into Light Energy is called Electroluminescence.
as said earlier LED is a Forward Bias semiconductor device, which means it will start working when the p terminal of the diode will be connected to the positive potential of a battery, and the N terminal of the device to the negative terminal of the battery.
so the holes in the P side experience repulsion because of the positive voltage applied by the battery and the electrons in the N side experiences repulsion due to negative supply by the Battery.
due to this repulsion, the electrons start moving from the conduction band to the Valance band.
During their movement Electrons releases some energy, but in the case of a LED, it emits Light energy, because of the characteristic of the material of LED.

Today LED is available in all colours, and we can choose
