CAPITALS in the Simraungadh, the Bara district of Nepal, and Darbhanga, Bihar.Darbhanga was chosen as the second capital during the rule of Gangadeva.Karnat dynasty ruled from 1097 CE to 1324 CE and ruled in Tirhut or Mithila in Bihar state of Nepal and India.Nanyadeva established his rule over Simraungadh with the help of Vikramaditya VI, a Chalukya king.This marked the beginning of this dynasty. Nanyadeva ruled the Mithila region for 50 years.He is known for his courage, generosity, and respect he showed to scholars.Scholars often REGARD him as ‘sons of Mithila’.During the period of the Karnat dynasty, there was an environment of peace for poets, authors, and artists.The MAITHILI language developed immensely during this period and new LITERATURE and folk songs were CREATED.
