I am using a couple of singletons in my application, but I am wondering if I create a timer to schedule an API call. Will it continue counting when the app is running in the background?

So these singletons have to update when there is updated something or has changed.

I think it is more preferable to use real-time data instead of a plain counter?

MEAN Backend and Ionic 4 - Angular 7 front-end

What kind of plugin is commonly used for this?

So basically I also use ionic segment buttons. Where I have an info, menu and review segment.

These segment will initialize , and

Which now work as following: each of these components has a controller and service. The data is stored in the controller after the success callback.

So each time the component is initialized the ngOnInit() executes the fetchData method.

So I thought I should create a singleton like below and store data in Singleton.

@Injectable()
export class MenuService extends AbstractService {
    menu = {
        items: []
    };

    constructor(
        public http: HttpClient,
        public globalService: GlobalService
    ) {
        super(http, globalService);
    }

    getRestaurantMenu(id, requestObject = new RequestObject) {
        this.httpGet(this.apiUrl + 'getMenu/restaurant/' + id, requestObject,
            (data) => {
                this.menu.items = Menu.list([data.data]);
                requestObject.onSuccess(Menu.list([data.data]));
            }, (err) => {
                requestObject.onFail(err);
            }
        );
    }
}

But than I have the issue that it is not getting updated when a menu item is added in the backend.

I hope I sketched the issue clearly so you could help me out with this issue.
