I'm creating events on an organization calendar using a service account and the Node.js Google API client library through the following code:

var event =
{
     summary: meeting.title,
     description: meeting.agenda,
     start:
     {
         dateTime: meeting.startTime,
         timeZone: "Africa/Johannesburg"
     },
     end:
     {
         dateTime: meeting.endTime,
         timeZone: "Africa/Johannesburg",
     },
     attendees:
     [
         { email: meeting.hostEmail, displayName: meeting.hostName },
         { email: meeting.clientEmail, displayName: meeting.clientName }
     ]
};

var entry =
{
     auth: auth,
     calendarId: meeting.hostCalendarId,
     sendUpdates: "all",
     sendNotifications: true,
     resource: event
}

calendar.events.insert(entry, function(err, event)
{
    if (err)
    {
        console.log('There was an error contacting the Calendar service: ' + err);
        response.sendStatus(500);
        return;
    }

    response.sendStatus(200);
});

From my understanding, the parameter that is supposed to fire off email notifications to all attendees when the event is created is the sendUpdates: "all" parameter.

The event is being created fine, the entry on the calendar is created for all attendees, BUT, there are no email notifications being sent out to tell the attendees that the event has been created.

Does any body know why this wouldn't work?
