I'm developing an Android App where backend is Google Firebase. Whenever an entry is made or an entry is deleted from the Database, how can I get a Notification ?

You can do this by following ways:

  • Cloud Functions (using triggers - I have tried using this)
functions.database.ref('').onWrite(event => {
//perform the functions what you need to perform while on entry in the database
});

you can use this to get notification for the data entry on particular node of firebase database.

  • ValueEventListeners (this can be done for server side and client side by subscribing to nodes of database and get notifications for it when data is changes.)

You may prefer ChildValueEventListeners for list of data and get notification for different type of child events like child added, child modifed, child deleted etc
