I am a beginner programmer. I just deployed my first react app with node backend to Heroku and MongoDB. When I make GET requests to my endpoints, it only serves the frontend of my app.

here is the API GET request code example:

router.get("/", jwtAuth, (req, res) => {
  let username = req.user.username;
  let findParam = {};
  findParam.userId = username;

  Daily.find(findParam)
    .then(posts => {
      res.json(posts.map(post => post.serialize()));
    })
    .catch(err => {
      console.error(err);
      res.status(500).json({ error: "something went terribly wrong" });
    });
});
