PHP sendmail permission error

If I use php sendmail (already configured it with the right path on php.ini file and restarted the apache + sendmail server), it always gives permission errors like:

2014 Dec 30 18:14:46 Gaming sB*******: SYSERR(www-data): queueup: cannot create queue file ./qf*******, euid=33, fd=-1, fp=0 x0: Permission denied

Note: the stars ( * ) are hiding some letters.

I just don't understand which permissions are missing or how to send them via the root user.
