swift keyboard input with submit button

I'm looking to implement a a keyboard input with a send button, similar to how it is done in iMessages. I found that MessageComposerView seemed to be the best option, so I began implementing that:

class UserActivityViewController : UIViewController, UITableViewDataSource, UITableViewDelegate, PHFComposeBarViewDelegate{
    @IBOutlet weak var composerBar: PHFComposeBarView!

    override func viewDidLoad() {
        super.viewDidLoad()
        self.composerBar.delegate = self
    }

    override var canBecomeFirstResponder: Bool { return true }

    override var inputAccessoryView: UIView {
        composerBar.removeFromSuperview()
        return composerBar
    }

Everything appears to be set up correctly but whenever I try to use the view I get the following error:

'Impossible to set up layout with view hierarchy unprepared for constraint.

Can someone point me in the right direction, or is there a better way to implement this?
