| 6. | Abdelaziz Raikhan , a maintece man for the Saudi security forces, responded to the suicide bombing of a police headquarters in Riyadh that killed 5 people and wounded 148 on April 21, accusing the perpetrators of being “mentally ill. … There's not one American in this entire area. Not one! What kind of jihad is this?”
अब्दुल अजीज रेम्बान- सउदी सुरक्षाबल की देखभाल से जुड़ा व्यक्ति 21 अप्रैल को रियाद के पुलिस मुख्यालय में 50 व्यक्तियों की हत्या और 148 व्यक्तियों को हताहत करने वाले आत्मघाती हमलावर को उसने मानसिक रुप से बीमार बताया क्योंकि इस पूरे क्षेत्र में एक भी अमेरिकी नहीं रहता , किस तरह का जेहाद है जब एक भी विदेशी नहीं है .

| 7. | Walter L. Cutler and Richard W. Murphy - two former U.S. ambassadors to Saudi Arabia. Like too many others who served in Riyadh, Cutler and Murphy have translated their government service into apologizing for the Saudis. Their actions are all too typical of Americans who deal with Riyadh in their high-level official capacity and then take Saudi funds to promote Saudi interests.

West set the gold standard by funding his personal foundation with a $500,000 donation from a single Saudi prince, plus more from other Saudis, soon after he left the kingdom in 1981. | 9. | Thus, the recent violence in Riyadh ultimately reflects not just a hatred of Americans but a titanic clash of visions and a struggle for power; in this, it recapitulates the civil war of the 1920s. Is Saudi Arabia to remain a monarchy that at least partially accommodates modernity and the outside world? Or is it to become the Islamic Emirate of Arabia, a reincarnation of the Taliban's completely regressive rule in Afghanistan?
इसलिए रियाद में हुई हिंसा अन्त में केवल अमेरिकनों के प्रति घृणा नहीं वरन् सत्ता के लिए संघर्ष और विचारों के संघर्ष को परिलक्षित करता है और 1920 के गृह युद्ध का स्मरण दिलाता है। क्या सउदी अरब को राजशाही में ही रहना दिया जाये ताकि वह कम से कम बाहरी विश्व और आधुनिकता को आत्मसात कर सके। या फिर इसे अरब व इस्लामी अमीरात बनने दिया जो अफगानिस्तान के क्रूर शासन का पूर्णतया अवतार हो।

| 10. | The current iteration of the Saudi kingdom came into being in 1902 when a Saudi leader captured Riyadh. Ten years later, there emerged a Wahhabi armed force known as the Ikhwan (Arabic for “Brethren”) which in its personal practices and its hostility toward non-Wahhabis represented the most militant dimension of this already militant movement. One war cry of theirs went: “The winds of Paradise are blowing. Where are you who hanker after Paradise?”
