The complete form of GCP is Google Cloud Platform, a suite of cloud computing services offered by the famous internet company Google.
The google cloud platform runs on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products like Gmail, file storage, google search, YouTube etc.
The google cloud provides a set of management tools and a series of modular cloud services. These cloud services by the google cloud platform are data analytics, data storage, machine learning etc.
There is a registration process for this google cloud computing that requires credit card or bank account details.
The google cloud platform provides a platform as a service, serverless computing environments, infrastructure as a service etc.
Google announced App Engine in April 2008 which was a platform to develop and host web applications in google managed data centres. The app engine was the first-ever cloud computing service from the company.
App engine became commonly available in November 2011. After the announcement the cloud platform App Engine google added multiple cloud services to this platform.
