1. PREPARING a voters list - it is duty of election commission to prepare a voters list before elections and include NAMES of NEW voters.
2. Deciding the schedule for elections - election commission decides the schedule for elections and in how many stages it has to be conducted.
3. Scrutinising data given by candidates - the data given by the candidates is scrutinised and verified by the election commission.
4. Giving recognition to political parties - election commission gives recognition to political parties in form of party symbol. It can also derecognise a political party.
5. To follow code of conduct - election commission has to PAY ATTENTION if everyone including political parties, government, and voters are following the rules rules laid by the code of conduct
