jet stream is relatively NARROW bands of strong WINDS in upper levelsof ATMOSPHERE. The winds blow from West to EAST in jet stream but flow often SHIFTS to the North to South .jet stream follow boundaries between hot and cold air .The earth rotation is responsible for the jet stream as well ..I hope it will help you please put me as branlist
