What is the best email client that is free? I had enough with Outlook Express. One minute I get an error and next minute it's all good. What the *censored* is that all about? I need to switch email CLIENTS. The only 2 things I change in the email options are to set read receipts and leave the email on the server. Whatever email someone would RECOMMEND, how do I set it in the email client? I also would like an email client that is 100% free, no shareware or anything. Just freeware. Here is the error that keeps coming on and off.
The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.rcn.com', Server: 'pop.rcn.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 207.172.157.20 (207.172.157.20:110), bind error 10055', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90Personally I prefer Gmail. The spam filter is very good, it's free with plenty of space and I can check my mail from any computer.
But for an email client check out Thunderbird

I haven't used it lately but it is a separate install. They won't interfere with each other at all.
In an email account setup - you have the option to leave on server or not.
Just checked - in server settings - yep - checkbox to select this or not.
Thunderbird...hands down.
