OPTION 3, i.e. subtropical high-pressure cells. The circulation cell closest to the equator is known as the Hadley cell. The Hadley cell is known after George Hadley.Hadley Cell is the low altitude overturning circulation. This circulation causes the trade winds, subtropical deserts, tropical rain-belts and hurricanes, and the jet streams. It exists on either side of the equator. It consists of a single wind system in each HEMISPHERE, eastward and poleward FLOW at higher altitudes and westward and equatorward flow near the surface. When it reaches about 30° north and south, the air cools and sinks towards the GROUND forming the subtropical high-pressure zone.
