Computer science and engineering is among the best engineering fields in India and abroad. CSE branch offers the highest employment in our country The placements at National Institute of Technology, Surathkal for Computer Science and Engineering is really very good. The placement ratio is almost 95 to 100%. Many multinational IT companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc., visit the campus every year and take students from here. The NIT Surathkal has the most vibrant campus and study culture when it comes to comparison amongst all the top NITs and best government and autonomous institutes except IITs. The placement there from B.Tech CSE has an average of around 15 per annum varying from 10 to 50 lakhs being lowest and highest respectively. The campus shares an edge with the ocean and owns it private beach, which makes it beautiful as anything. The academic and students culture is also the best when it comes to shaping ones personality and enhancing the knowledge from industrial as well as corporate point of view. Although it takes time for students to get absorbed and manage with the culture being the study worms for two years but still the future after studying from NIT Surathkal is secure, let one be from any branch. The CSE here leads in terms of placement and other parameters. Also among all the NITs, the top CSE is of NIT, Trichy but one who wants to live his/her life up to the fullest shall definitely join here.

NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT, Surathkal is one of the top NITs and is known across the India. According to the National Institutional, Ranking Framework NIT Surathkal ranks 22nd among the engineering colleges in India. For computer science engineering, last time (2016-17) out of 94 students who applied to placements from CSE department all the 94 students were placed meaning 100 percent placement for CSE which is quite an impressive number. For CSE the minimum salary offered was Rs 4 lakhs per annum. The average salary was Rs 12.8 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary was Rs 25 lakhs per annum. All these figures suggest pretty good placements at NIT Surathkal.

According to last year statistics, 100% of class got placed. Highest package being 35 lpa. Companies that visit our college include Uber, Amazon, Arcesium, Microsoft, VISA, Samsung (to name a few). The department has signed MoU with IBM, Intel, Leeds Metropolitan University and others, for academic collaborative projects.
