IITs are the premier engineering institutes. IIT-Guwahati is one of the old IITs and lakhs of students try to get admission here every year. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, IIT Guwahati ranks 7th among all engineering colleges in India which is a pretty good rank. Electronics and Electrical Engineering at IIT-Guwahati is pretty good. For EEE Engineering, in 2015 out of 42 students who applied to placements from the EEE department, 29 students were placed meaning 69 percent placement for EEE which is an okayish number. The average salary was around 9.6 LPA and the maximum salary was around 20 LPA. All these figures suggest pretty good placements at IIT-Guwahati. For the entire placement report, open the first link:

IIT, Guwahati has the best faculty for electronics and electrical engineering all over India and has reputation for the best placements in the same department. Also being in an IIT you can ensure yourself that you are in the best hands in India and are going to have the best placement opportunities than any other college in India. Coming back to the question, the average placement package for electronics and electrical engineer in the year 2017 was around Rs 7 to Rs 8 lakhs and number of core electrical companies showed up to recruit students from the campus, with most of them being startups. With this the total batch placement percentage rounded up to 85% for the batch of the Year 2017 in electronics and electrical department. So I would highly recommend someone who is interested to take up electronics and electrical engineering to go for IIT, Guwahati. I hope you do well.
