Greetings from SHIKSHA. Mechanical Engineering is the best Engineering branch of today. Industrial Sector is growing very much so thus generation of jobs also increases. Talking about the placements of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati is, almost 100% ratio is seen every year. The average package of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati is around 8 to 10 lakhs per annum. Many Multinational Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. visit here and offers the good packages to Computer Engineers. Companies like Yahoo, Oracle, Snapchat, Axis Bank, HCL Technologies, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Adani group, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Samsung, Qualcomm, etc. takes Students from here. Since ME Branch is best and evergreen, the placement ratio of mechanical branch will also increase in future with good amount of packages by the companies. Talking about the IITs, all IITs placement ratio will also increase or the packages will increase because IITs are the top most Engineering Institute worldwide so many companies will take part in campus placement at IITs for quality engineers. Thus, the placement ratio of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati is best. And nowadays, there are many opportunity of jobs for Mechanical Engineers in Government Sector and Public Sector Undertaking PSUs.

It is an Indian premier institute and the IIT, Guwahati has the best placements for mechanical engineering and the highest package for this branch goes upto 85 LPA and the average package is around 15.6 LPA plus the perks and the big companies like Honda, Hero, Bajaj, etc. visit this college regularly.

IITs are the premier engineering institutes. IIT-Guwahati is one of the old IITs and lakhs of students try to get admission here every year. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, IIT-Guwahati ranks 7th among all engineering colleges in India which is a pretty good rank. Mechanical Engineering at IIT-Guwahati is pretty good. For Mechanical Engineering, in 2015 out of 76 students who applied to placements from the Mechanical department, 57 students were placed meaning 68 percent placement for Mechanical which is an okayish impressive number. It also arranges industrial visits and foreign immersion programme for mechanical branch. Mechanical engineering at IIT Guwahati is very decent. For mechanical engineering, for 2016 out of 68 students who applied to placements, 64 students have been placed meaning almost 100 % placement for mechanical which is mouth hogging. The median salary was around 9 LPA but the average salary was around 7 LPA and the maximum salary was around 22 LPA.
