These days here in ISM, Dhanbad too placement of mining engineering department is not as good as it was few years back. I have seen some students getting offer of around 50 lakhs per annum but things have changed after that. Even after maintaining CGPA of around 9 I am not sure about my campus job. So don't expect much if you are planning to do mining engineering. National institute of technology Surathkal is very good college and considered as one of the best NIT. Placement is good but not as good as other branches. Highest salary offered was 9-21 LPA. Average package offered was 5-6 LPA. Many students of mining engineering got jobs in software companies. National Institute of Technology-Suratkal is one of the best government colleges of India. It ranks 13th in the list of top engineering colleges in India. It is known for its great infrastructure faculties with the knowledge and much-needed experience and better facilities like Wi-Fi Sports Complex and labs with better equipment and machines. NIT-Surathkal has many courses to offer out of which mining engineering is one of the courses in which it offers 55 seats to the students. Placement of students from mining engineering branch in NIT-Surathkal is very good. Let's talk about the course: Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that applies science and technology to the extraction of minerals from the earth. There are many companies that come for the placement like Advent Asia, Tata Steel, Jindal, CIL, Rio Tinto, Coal India, UCIL. The names mentioned above are the core companies that come for the placement. About 70% students of mining engineering are placed in the placement.out of which most of the students are placed in non-core companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, etc. Average salary provided by the companies is about 4.5 lakh per annum. Highest salary provided by the companies is about 9-10 lakhs per annum. Hope it helps.
