The candidates who want to pursue aircraft maintenance engineering course should have completed 10+2 with at least 50 per cent marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. There is an upper age limit of 23 years to enter the programme. Upper age limit may be relaxed for those who have done three-year diploma course in engineering (in any stream) or B.Sc. after 12th with physics, chemistry and maths. After completing the training program, candidates have to appear for aircraft maintenance licensing examinations held by DGCA. The licenses are issued for a particular type of aircraft. Hence, aircraft maintenance engineers who hold license of servicing Boeing planes are authorized to inspect only Boeing aircraft and certify its fitness.
