Take a Mock a week from the month of May. And analyse it within the week, irrespective of the Time it takes. Practice each topic in quants from January and start solving topic tests based on them. Take up a topic a week and try and get as strong ATIT as you can. Read Books by English writers, atleast one book a month and solve 4-5 RCs a week. (This too irrespective of the Time it takes) Do atleast 4 sets of DI and 4 sets of LR every week other than the Mock sets that you are already doing. So ,you see, its not bounded by the amount of time. Rather by the topics and questions. How fast you are capable of going through them will determine the amount of time you need to solve. And the more IQ you have, the faster your ability to comprehend whats been said. So, it proves the rule of time for CAT given above.

It depends on you. If you want then you can take one year of time for the preparation and if you think it's not necessary to take one year’s gap then start preparing now and practice daily.
