If you are satisfied with your job or if you are facing financial problem then quitting the job for CAT will not be a clever idea. You can switch to a part-time job rather than completely quitting it. If you are not facing the above-mentioned problems then you can quit your job and devote yourself for CAT. I personally know a person who cleared CAT while working in a company (part-time). He used to attend a night coaching class. Many coaching institutes offer classes on the weekends. So, you can join these types of coaching institutes as well. TIME is the most famous coaching institute for CAT preparation. You can also buy its study materials. You should read the Hindu news editorial and stay updated about the field of current affairs. Increase your vocabulary and improve your grammar. Last but not the least, you should solve previous years papers to get a rough idea of the paper pattern. Hope it helped. Thank you.

A job with studies becomes a hectic task. But there are many people who do both at the same time. Firstly, you need to plan and organize your activities. Like the time remaining after work hours, effective utilization of this time is needed. Also, time spent in traveling should be utilized. Start reading a newspaper like The Hindu, Editorial section to improve in verbal section. Also, keep formula's /basic concepts ready on cards. So that you could read these cards during breakfast or idle time. Also during lunch break or so see, News channels. Things will become easy once you are sorted with the correct utilization of available time. CAT requires hard work, and there is no exception to this hard work. Eventually, these efforts will sail you through exams and make life better once you get a good college. Also "Change of subject is rest to mind", so keep doing different subjects (Maths, LR, Verbal) inrotation. Sometimes when tired, watch an English movie (will improve verbal). This helps you keep work-life balance and prepare you for MBA. All the best.

I think you should quit and try for CAT. CAT is very difficult to crack. Lot of students each year appear and are not able to crack it. Competitors are very large in number. Each year, lakhs of students appear for this exam. Seats are very limited. Indian student’s dreams destination is IIMs. Getting into IIM help students get a luxury life with quality placement. Some of preparation strategies used for CAT are as follows: 1. Select one of the best coaching centers which offer quality education- TIME is one of the famous coaching centers for CAT and MAT. 2. Dedication- Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve. 3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in CAT are from Hindu editorial. 4. Try to do a maximum number of online mock tests. You will definitely clear CAT by doing the above. 5. Try to read as much as you can and make note of points. 6. Revision of each week’s topics is very important. 7. Mathematical ability questions will be little-twisted, try to do as fast as you can. 8. Be dedicated to it and be regular to the classes. These are my tips for you to crack CAT.

Common Aptitude Test (CAT) is one of the most difficult exam conducted in India. You must devote a quality of time to prepare for it. It's much more than appearing in exam and getting a grade card. You must get a good grade, so that the time you spent for preparing turns out to be fruitful. Now, coming to your question, I would say, it all depends upon person to person. It's a game of time management. If you are good in managing both the things in a proper way, then it's fair enough to continue you job. But, if you think that you are not able to cope up with the situation, then it is advisable to quit the job and devote the whole time for getting prepared. It should not be like, that you only appeared in the exam and you just got your grade card. The time you devote should ultimately help you to achieve a good percentile. I hope, that I am able to answer your question. Thank you.

CAT is tough. We all know it. But should one quit his job? I think this is a big decision and you should first try to balance studies and job if you can before taking such step. So first try and see, if it doesn't work out and you are very motivated to study for CAT and also dedicated then go for it because low dedication can be very fatal. The best way to achieve a work/study/life balance is to be ruthless about organizing your time so that your priorities don't suffer. Carry a diary or use the one on your phone so that you know when important lectures and deadlines are coming up, what dates and times you have agreed to work and what key social events you don't want to miss. Plan to study intensively for a while and then devote yourself to your work at other times. Be realistic about what you can do and don't promise something you can't deliver, or people will be less sympathetic to your needs another time. So act accordingly. Don’t mess up both the things.
