Shiksha, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine engineering. If you have not decided what you want to do after B.Tech, sit for one or two days and decided what you want to do. If still confused, select any of the engineering mentioned in point # 1, 2 and 3 (Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics). Best of luck.

If you are good in chemistry and wants to pursue engineering degree related to chemistry then chemical engineering will be good for you. But you should do a bit research regarding the scope and career opportunity for chemical engineers. Scope is very limited for chemical engineers in India. That’s why cut-off of even top colleges for this branch goes down. People these days running behind the best branches like computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering etc. just because of job opportunity. Only a handful of students’ interest lies in these subjects. If you want to gain knowledge and have faith in yourself, then definitely go for Chemical engineering. Otherwise, don't go for it just because you are good in chemistry. You may get good opportunities if you pursue the same from top reputed colleges. Institute of chemical technology (ICT) Mumbai University is one of the best colleges for chemical engineering. It accept JEE Mains marks and MHCET marks 35% and 65% respectively to admit their students. Otherwise, pursuing the same from IIT will be good.
