ECE is not that difficult a stream. It has good scope and the rest depends upon your interest.

Yes, it is quite hard if you compare from other branches as it contain very good quality courses like digital signal and system which require great concentration.

There can't be one answer to this question. So here is my view. The difficulty of branch depends on your interest in the subjects and your strengths and weaknesses. So, if you are passionate about electric circuits and semiconductors, you may feel ECE is interesting, but if you hate these subjects from start, you are ought to find these subjects difficult. Other than that, ECE also requires high-level maths like Fourier series and Calculus for many subjects so if you are bad at maths again you might feel it as difficult. In general, most of the branches are of same difficulty level with ECE and Mechanical being a bit more than others. One thing of which I am sure due to my personal experience is ECE, CSE and Mechanical will have hectic schedules as compared to branches like Chemical and Meta. My suggestion is that you should go through the syllabus of all the branches and choose the one which suits you the most. Finally, join ECE if you are passionate about it and don't worry about the difficulty and all. All the best.

Electronics and communication engineering is somewhat tougher than the engineering fields like computer science it or civil engineering. However, due to the lack of facilities in India for the students in the college, it is really tough to see how a capacitor work or know the transmission of radio waves or electromagnetic waves there is no practical proof of these things that are there is only theory and some concepts on equation that don't make sense. Due to the lack of practical knowledge, there is a gap between the theoretical knowledge which cannot be filled until you read more and more about the topic. Electronics and communication engineering includes core subjects related to electronics like electronic circuits electronic devices digital electronic and microprocessor with the communication ports and like antenna and wave propagation analogue and digital communication telecommunication satellite communication Optical Fibre communication and Microwave Engineering. It also includes some of the CSE or it part related to topics such as router Internet protocols and OSI models. Also, electronics and communication engineers have to learn programming languages like Arduino or C+ which does not help them in getting jobs in core companies. It is an intermediate course between hardware and software which makes it somewhat tougher. In last, I would like to tell you that it does not depend on that the subject is tough or not it only depends on you whether you have an interest in this subject or not. Hope it helps.

Difficulty level depends on your interest, if the interest is high difficulty should be low as you add passion as fuel and catalyst to drive your scores. Do you like coding or you would like to deal with combination of hardware & software? Do you have ardor to develop apps or you would like to spend hours in lab testing any device? If you want to go in software field, coding is must. You would be coding 24 hrs in this job like developing applications for windows or Android phones. In ECE, you have a lot of options: Either you could go for combination of hardware and software like micro-controllers, processors. You would test the hardware and also code for it. The scope and breadth of roles are wide in all cases. For other branches like Civil, Automobiles, Mechanical, which are core branches have similar level of difficulty as par with others. Overall, your interest in any Specialization, with passion to learn and prove yourself will make any branch easy to decode and make bright career.

No branch of engineering is hard or easy, it totally depends on your attitude and skill that how you take it and deal with it simultaneously.
